I find myself by baffled by the concept of time. What exactly is a moment? And how do we measure its unit? Did you know minutes and seconds aren’t precise enough to measure what constitutes a moment at its most basic level? I mean think about it…If you take a moment measured within the lapse of a nano-second, and split it, you will find that is there is yet another, smaller “moment” within the moment you had just measured…and another within that…all veering into eternity. It is true because time is sitting on the fabric of eternity. Don’t think about it too much.
I say all that to say this. Whether we truly grasp the notion of moments or not, we experience them. As a matter of fact, we do not grasp an astonishing bulk of what constitutes existence…we just do [exist]. We are miracles, living in a miracle…and sadly for the most part, oblivious of it all. Why are we this way? Sometimes, I have to slap myself to awaken from the slumber I fall into with open eyes, one characterized by “having eyes but not seeing” (Mark 8:18).
There is a Psalm that has been burning in my heart for the past few weeks.
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.”Psalm 19:1-4 NIV
David has such a way with words. The works of God, speak boisterously…so loud that they are heard throughout the whole earth..yet without sound. I gotta give David songwriter-kudos for that one!
But hold on! Shhh…do you hear that? It’s them. They are declaring Glory, Beauty, Majesty…they are declaring Love. They are revealing knowledge of Him. But not just them, you…yes you yourself are declaring Him.
There is an astonishing truth that God has never been far…as if He hid His face and made Himself an impossible find. Nope! The truth is God has never been “far from any one of us…for in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:27-28). Your very being declares Him. Wake up from the-slumber-of-the-open-eyes…at least awaken to your own being’s boisterous declaration of His Glory!
very refreshing!!
“But not just them, you……yes, you yourself are declaring Him”
Wow!!! So good
